I’m an Australian journo on leave from the ABC and living in the UK. It’s like a gap year but longer and I’m doing it a bit later than most.
I’m looking for work but in the meantime I will be posting some stuff here that interests me. That’s when I’m not soaking up the English sunshine at the beach.
I’ve been a journalist for 27 years and before that worked on trains for Queensland Rail.
I like all sport but in recent years have developed a passion for netball and the mighty Sunshine Coast Lightning.
I am also an avid military history enthusiast from WW1 to Vietnam and through to the present day. I have even been dabbling in some tour guiding on the Australian battlefields in France and Belgium and doing some great interviews.
I’m an avid follower of news and current affairs and will try to maintain the values of balance, fairness, accuracy and impartiality here with a bit of humour and fun.
Boy from OZ is a place for me to collect my work while I'm off on this adventure
